Local/Regional Government

With many years’ local government experience MRC’s specialist area lies in early years and education, though we have undertaken projects within social services and corporate services on issues such as personnel and community safety and, increasingly, in areas involving multi-agency working.

The range of projects undertaken is vast, encompassing areas such as children’s centres (and prior to that Sure Starts), workforce surveys, audits, systems procurement, interim management, student admissions, special educational needs, advisory services, hospital educational services to name but a few.

Third Sector

MRC has increasingly become involved with third sector clients as the government’s agenda forges new links with the statutory sector and third sector services become more formalised under more sophisticated joint commissioning arrangements.

We have worked at many levels; regionally evaluating ChangeUp Consortia, county wide re-structuring Councils for Voluntary Services and Volunteer Centres, and locally evaluating individually funded projects through, for example, New Deal for Communities.

MRC’s partner organisations, Phillip Parry Associates and Bridge Consulting Partners have vast experience in the sector as chairs or trustees of third sector organisations which, complemented by the data gathering expertise, research and analysis experience of MRC makes for a rounded approach to the projects we undertake in this sector.
